Odeo’s widget is really pretty and tricky, but it doesn’t seem quite fair to the podcast producer that its links all go to Odeo’s site.
Odeo is trying to find its footing after the founder gave back his venture capital. I suppose the idea is to provide a single-source spot for the podcast listener, but who knows whether consumers of podcasts necessarily want that. You think?
It did occur to me for the first time when playing a clip on the Odeo page that, without the text from this blog, it could look like I’m ripping off podcasters’ content. I really mean to honor and promote podcasts, but maybe I should put a leader on the clips to make things more clear.
